Banff Wedding Photographer | A Summer Tunnel Mountain Wedding

The sun is shining, the mountains are stunning and love is most definitely in the air! In honour of this amazing summer day, I’m so happy to share Damian and Archana’s Tunnel Mountain wedding with you.

This lovely couple got married last August at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir, one of the most beautiful wedding ceremony locations in Banff. Right beside this meadow is Buffalo Mountain Lodge – one of those places built from hand-hewn timber with high beam ceilings and amazing stone fireplaces. Mountain style!

We have to give a shout out to Rocky Mountain Weddings, who recommended us to Damian and Archana. Thanks guys :) They also did a great job with the Tunnel Mountain wedding ceremony and reception setup, and keeping the whole day running smoothly.

We’re so lucky to have such a strong community of wedding planners, photographers, florists, venue managers, commissioners and decor providers in the Banff and Canmore area. We get tons of inspiration and support from our community and we’re super proud to be a part of that.

Raf was honoured with taking Damian and Archana’s engagement photos, so he already knew they’re a really fun couple. And it turns out they have great taste in friends! Raf came home blabbing about how much fun this wedding party was. Lots of laughter and silliness!

All that silliness takes some energy, and wise ol’ Archana planned a three hour nap into their wedding day. Genius! This move was a good reminder that wedding days should be relaxing. (As well as exciting, romantic, emotional, fun, funny, deep, beautiful and more!)

Damian’s family are Bulgarian and Raf’s are Polish, so the boys bonded over their eastern European-ness! And the big day featured some treasured Bulgarian traditions, including the breaking of the pita bread.

Whoever breaks the biggest half is “in charge” of the marriage. Check out the photo below to see who won! Damian’s mom then gave the couple pieces of pita dipped in honey to ensure they have a sweet life together. How sweet is that!

Archana also brought in some of her family traditions, changing into a stunning pink and ivory sari later in the day.

Congratulations and hugs to Damian and Archana. Your Tunnel Mountain wedding was beautiful and we’re sure you guys will have a long, love-filled, happy life together.

Enjoy the wedding photos! x

(Oh, and keep going to the bottom for a special, beautiful bonus!)
