We’re thrilled to share this Lake Louise elopement with you today. You see, Sheryl and I sure connected and spent many moments on email and phone connecting, laughing, and sharing in stories (wedding or otherwise, hehe). We live, work, and play in the Rockies, and it’s an honour to share our love for this magical place with our couples who are planning their celebrations from afar.
We were so excited when Sheryl and Clark arrived in the Rockies a few days before their celebration. Here’s a shot from their mountain engagement photo session:
After their Fall engagement session in Canmore, we celebrated and welcomed them to the Canadian Rockies during a wonderful night out at Sage Bistro and Wine Lounge (one of our faves). We sat and just laughed for hours talking about food, wine (did you know that Virginia has an incredible winery scene??), Clark’s love of VW cars and, of course, their beloved kitties…
…who may or may not have been responsible for the paw prints all over the reception table! (See if you can spot them!)
They told us their vision was a wedding that highlighted the wonders of Mother Nature. Majestic peaks, emerald-coloured water and jade coloured trees… A Lake Louise elopement was perfect for their dream!
There were so many special details. Like the rings! Sheryl’s were rose gold with pavé diamonds and a very rare (and very beautiful) pink padparadscha sapphire. Clark’s was custom-made with a deconstructed New Brunswick flag etched into it.
Wedding designer Cathy MacRae (of Creative Weddings Planning & Décor) put everything together, with the ceremony outside the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and the reception in the Lefroy Room (a lovely little room great for Lake Louise elopements and intimate weddings).
We really enjoyed working with Sheryl and Clark. It’s such a privilege to be able to connect and get to know couples from all over the world, and to be welcomed to share in their celebrations. With Sheryl and Clark, you know there is something special between them from the instant you connect or hear one speak of the other. You can literally feel their warmth and love and how much they cherish each other.
Sheryl wrote after their wedding that ‘our dream was wholeheartedly fulfilled with blissful memories created, forever to be shared with our loved ones.’ We’re seriously so happy that their day was everything they wished for and more! YAY!
